Xcellence Gala

The gala serves as both an anniversary celebration and a fundraising effort to support the various programs and services provided to the community. The primary objective of this annual event is to generate the funds necessary to sustain our mission of empowering youth, offering comprehensive educational programs, and creating opportunities for personal and academic advancement. By attending and contributing to this gala, individuals play a crucial role in supporting the future development of the community's youth.

Back to School/Parent Resource Fair

The Back-to-School Parent Resource Fair serves parents and students in grades K-8 in Guilford County and Stokesdale who are preregistered to enroll in the Operation Homework afterschool program in the upcoming Fall. Hosted annually by Operation Xcel in July, the event features workshops led by community partners on topics like transitioning to high school, digital parenting, self-care, and IEPs. Attendees receive valuable resources from community partners, enjoy activities for children, and are provided with breakfast, lunch, book bags, and school supplies to support a successful school year.

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global day for charitable acts observed annually after Thanksgiving, promoting donations, volunteerism, and community support. It counters the consumer-driven focus of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, encouraging generosity toward nonprofit causes and local initiatives.

Operation Xcel uses Giving Tuesday to raise funds for educational and youth programs. We leverage social media, newsletters, and visual content like videos to engage supporters. Events such as matching gift campaigns amplify contributions, fostering community ties and transparency to inspire continued support.

Holiday Honor Cards

Operation Xcel’s Holiday Honor Cards bring joy and warmth to the holiday season! Each card is crafted by our talented students, featuring heartfelt messages of hope and connection.

When you purchase a card, you not only share a special sentiment but also support vital mentoring and tutoring programs for students in need. Available on our website from Black Friday until the Friday before Christmas, this is your chance to brighten someone’s day while making a meaningful impact!
